Tancredo Knows How to Solve a Problem Like Sharia
Hat tip Jihad Watch
Tancredo’s bill, dubbed the “Jihad Prevention Act,” would bar the entry of foreign nationals who advocate Sharia law. In addition, the legislation would make the advocacy of Sharia law by radical Muslims already in the United States a deportable offense
Muslims Against Sharia praised Congressman Tancredo’s initiative, stating their full support for the “Jihad Prevention Act,” and referring to their earlier statements:
Almost two decades ago when the Islamintern, aka The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), ratified the oxymoronically-entitled “Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Islam”, i.e., the 1990 Cairo Declaration [to which all member states (now 57) of the OIC—including “secular” Turkey—are signatories], the courageous Senegalese jurist Adama Dieng (a Muslim, who subsequently became a United Nations special rapporteur), then serving as secretary-general to the International Commission of Jurists, declared forthrightly (in February 1992) that the Cairo Declaration, under the rubric of the Shari’a,
…gravely threatens the inter-cultural consensus on which the international human rights instruments are based; introduces, in the name of the defense of human rights, an intolerable discrimination against both non-Muslims and women; reveals a deliberately restrictive character in regard to certain fundamental rights and freedoms..; [and] confirms the legitimacy of practices, such as corporal punishment, that attack the integrity and dignity of the human being.
Apparently, a preponderance of Muslims, including Muslim “academics” here in the US such as Khaled Abou El Fadl, and the equally deficient Roy Mottahedeh, as well as various “mainstream” Muslim advocacy groups, want nothing less than for our liberal democracy to willfully impose upon itself the Ur-Fascistic totalitarianism of Sharia. For example, El Fadl and Mottahedeh recently had the temerity to claim that Sharia Law’s compatibility or incompatibility with human rights was wholly “vacuous” and “irrelevant,” and further lamented the fact that Muslims have spent too much time trying to reconcile Shari’a with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—precisely because by design, the latter refuses to concede Islamic supremacy to a truly universal standard of rights based upon the US Bill of Rights. Only the most empty-headed buffoons, their minds melted away by ceaselessly and uncritically imbibing the cultural relativism that prevails in our “academy,” and “public discourse,” would even begin to entertain the premise of pseudo-academic frauds like El Fadl and Mottahedeh.
Thank goodness for Congressman Tancredo’s courage and clarity on this pressing matter!
